Santa Clara-based GlobalFoundries plans big expansion, mulls IPO, amid chip shortage

CEO Tom Caulfield told CNBC that the manufacturing capacity of his Santa Clara-based company is totally booked amid a global chip shortage that has hampered production of everything from phones to cars.
