Great Southern Mining Ltd (ASX:GSN) is confident that its strategic landholdings in Tier 1 Australian gold districts have genuine potential for major gold, copper, silver and nickel discoveries.  Notably, GSN was recently granted all exploration licences at the East Laverton Nickel Project (Southern Star, Cox’s Find, Mon Ami deposits) and now has exposure to gold at all of its projects and the added benefit of copper and other metals in North Queensland (Edinburgh Park), as well as nickel-sulphide at East Laverton.  The company is now planning a 5,000 metres reverse circulation(RC) drilling for the Southern Star deposit in the Laverton district.  Nickel sulphide potential  The East Laverton project has the potential to host massive nickel-sulphide deposits of both the layered-intrusive type and the komatiitic type across 400 square kilometres. Nickel potential of layered intrusions in Western Australia received limited attention before the 2012 discovery of the Nova deposit in the Fraser Range. Newexco exploration and geophysical consultants reviewed and re-interpreted the prospective basal contact of the layered intrusion to be the northeast of the Diorite Hill layered intrusion rather than the southwest as previously thought. A 45-day modern ground-based moving loop electromagnetic survey (MLEM) with the objective of finding Nova scale conductors has been recommended. WA Gold Projects are close to operating mills 21 new targets  On April 17, the company identified and ranked 21 new gold targets in the Duketon Belt after evaluating a newly acquired regional exploration database in the belt that included more than 12,000 drill holes and 24,000 soil samples. Seven of the newly identified areas are drill ready, with Golden Star the most advanced and first in line. A drill program is currently being designed at Golden Star, which 2017-2018 drilling demonstrated to be over 600 metres of strike length of thick continuous zone of gold mineralisation with multiple plus 50-gram-metre gold intersections. In addition, an extensive soil sample program has begun at the newly identified One Weight Wonder target to refine the coherent area of anomalism, which has a strike length of 1-kilometre. Proximal to operating mills A key benefit of the company’s WA gold projects is the proximity to operating mills. Southern Star and Cox’s Find are within 30 kilometres of Regis Resources Limited’s (ASX:RRL) (OTCMKTS:RGRNF) (FRA:RKQ) low-grade Garden Well Mill, and Mon Ami is only 10 kilometres from Gold Fields Limited’s (JSE:GFI) (NYSE:GFI) (FRA:EDGA) Granny Smith Mill (operating at 50% capacity). In total, there are eight potential milling solutions within 150 kilometres of Laverton and the company is confident that its value proposition is enhanced by hungry neighbouring mills. The Mon Ami deposit has near term open pit potential  Mon Ami open pit potential The company is confident that the Mon Ami deposit has near term open pit potential. The deposit has an inferred mineral resource of 1.1 million tonnes at 1.7 g/t gold for 59,000 ounces gold with a resource classification upgrade planned for the second quarter of 2021. Metallurgical recovery to date averages 95% in oxide and transition zone and development studies are underway targeting a mining approval in 2021 – and with the aim to present a ‘shovel ready' project to nearby mills. In addition, there is also underground potential, with a deeper high-grade target analogous to Ida H high- grade underground mine 7 kilometres along strike (historical production 176,000 ounces at 22.8 g/t gold). Edinburgh Park Exploration  In North Queensland at the Edinburgh Park deposit, the company has assembled more than 1,000 square kilometres surrounding Evolution Mining Ltd (ASX:EVN) (OTCMKTS:CAHPF) (FRA:WE7) Mt Carlton more than 1 million ounce gold, silver, and copper mine. A hyperspectral survey co-funded by EVN illuminated 19 targets and mapping and soil sampling has identified alteration and metal zonation consistent with an HS system at Fish Creek2 and a large IRGS system at Leichhardt Creek. Geologists in the field are now ground truthing and ranking anomalies for drill targeting.
