Golden Rim Resources Ltd has expanded the oxide gold blanket at its Kada Gold Project in Guinea to 700 metres in width after drilling four reverse circulation drill holes aimed at supporting the definition of a maiden mineral resource in the second half of 2021. This latest drilling further confirms multiple, broad, sub-parallel zones of gold mineralisation in the Newmont gold resource area with intersections including: 22 metres at 1.1 g/t gold from 41 metres; 32 metres at 1.2 g/t from 88 metres; 59 metres at 1.2 g/t from 1-metre; 3 metres at 1.4 g/t from 1-metre, including 1-metre at 11.2 g/t; 24 metres at 1.1 g/t from 91 metres and 47 metres at 1.9 g/t from 0 metres. Assays for three diamond, 10 RC and 1,782 auger holes at Kada are pending and are expected over the coming weeks. “Gold blanket growing" Speaking to the results, managing director Craig Mackay said: “Our thick oxide gold blanket at Kada is growing. “We are defining substantial areas of additional mineralisation in large gaps in the previous Newmont drilling, particularly in the southern and western portions of the Newmont gold resource area. “The new oxide gold intersection of 47 metres at 1.9g/t gold, including 14 metres at 4.4g/t gold, is particularly exciting as it is the best intercept so far from the latest round of drilling and this broad zone of mineralisation remains open to the south where there is no previous drilling in the oxide zone.” Next steps Remaining assays are expected over the coming weeks with the company having paused the definition drilling program for a short period of time to receive and assess the assays. Golden Rim expects to commence a second round of drilling in September.  The delivery of a maiden resource estimate for Kada remains on track for the second half of 2021.  Golden Rim recently completed a regional auger drilling program (30,506 metres in 2,921 holes) to explore for gold mineralisation outside the Newmont gold resource area with assays for 1,782 holes pending and expected shortly.
