The descendent of a vintage musical variety television show host just bought a downtown riverfront building. Jeffrey Welk, grandson of the late television star Lawrence Welk, who hosted The Lawrence Welk Show for decades starting in the 1950s, paid $35 million for the four-story building at 150 Second Ave. N.
