As staff isolate with Covid, KC hospital asks retired nurses to return to work

On Wednesday, Children’s Mercy had 314 staff members isolating at home with confirmed cases of Covid-19. “Prior to Omicron we had peaked in the 20s. So being in the 30s and being in the 30s consistently is definitely a high number for us,” said Dr. Jennifer Watts, chief emergency management medical officer at Children’s Mercy said.
