The horrific May 24 shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, west of San Antonio, has cast a pall over Texas for the past few days. I've heard from colleagues and personal friends struggling to focus at work, or needing time to recompose themselves after breaking down in tears while dropping off kids at school in these final days before summer break.
