MSP hike for rabi crops gets Cabinet nod; masur, mustard see highest rise

The Indian government has approved an increase in the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for all mandated Rabi crops for the 2024-25 marketing season. The highest increase in MSP has been approved for lentil (masur dal) followed by rapeseed and mustard, wheat, and safflower. The revision in MSP is in line with the Union Budget 2018-19 announcement which fixed the MSP at a level of at least 1.5 times the average cost of production.
