Authorities in South Carolina say a former Boeing manager who raised safety questions about the aircraft maker has been found dead. The body of John Barnett was found in a car outside a Holiday Inn on Saturday. suffering from what the Charleston County Coroner’s Office said appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Charleston police say detectives are waiting for a formal determination of the cause of death. Detectives are also pursuing information that may shed light on the circumstances surrounding the end of Barnett's life. His brother says working at Boeing created stress and anxiety for Barnett. The 62-year-old was a quality-control manager at Boeing before he retired in 2017.
