*Douglas Dare* is searching for connection.

Live, the London based artist is a riveting spectacle, his wonderfully open, frank persona engaging at every turn.

On record, too, he wants to build a bridge between the studio and the listener, resulting in some daring, triumphant projects.

COVID pushed his plans to one side, so Douglas Dare waited until lockdown eased, and then acted.

Working with a string quartet of players from the London Contemporary Orchestra, he's processed his feelings and ideas on new three track EP 'Heavenly Bodies'.

Out now on Erased Tapes, it's a beautiful experience, one that includes a Leonard Cohen cover and a duet with acclaimed American composer Peter Broderick.

We're able to share this new performance video, shot by documentary film maker Simon Lane in the beautiful St John of Jerusalem Church in Hackney, London.

Singing in such an enchanting building, Douglas Dare seems to wholly absorb both the title and emotional nuance of his song 'Heavenly Bodies'.

Simon Lane comments...

“I really wanted to create a feeling that matched the ‘haunting' and raw feeling of Heavenly Bodies. The one-take journey of our camera sees Douglas move around within the church in one continuous shot. We set up pools of light in four areas so he could seamlessly move between them. We shot using a Kodak Super 16mm film stock which picked up beautiful images both in these pools of light and the darker areas outside of them...”
