It's a new release on XXIM Records...

One of the biggest shifts in music over the past decade has been the growth of instrumental composition.

Where once composers were restricted to the left field, the rising of streaming has placed their work in new contexts, harnessing fresh audiences in the process.

*XXIM* Records is a new venture which aims to support artists emerging from this nexus, the crossover between electronics, modern classical, and ambient.

New signing* Paddy Mulcahy* helps kick the project off, and the Limerick composer is set to release his EP 'Tidal Oscillations (XXIM:EXPO #1)' on July 16th.

The new EP "is a collection of works dedicated to and inspired by my love of and fascination with synthesizers; how delicate yet powerful they can be," he comments. "A homage to my family of instruments that have served me so well, with every fader, knob, and cable inspiring a new approach and a new idea. The tracks on 'Tidal Oscillations' are all based on music I hear inside my head at my darkest moments, yet somehow it turned into something inspiring and uplifting."

New piece 'A Dream, A Sequence' airs through Clash, and it's a beautiful mini-manifesto; synth lines arc in amongst one another, a slow-moving construction that unfurls at its own pace.

Backed by some glistening visuals, 'A Dream, A Sequence' is an introduction to a highly sophisticated world.

Tune in now.
