It's out on September 17th...

*Alexis Taylor* is set to release his sixth solo album 'Silence' on September 17th.

The songwriter is noted for his key role in Hot Chip, but his solo catalogue also contains some jewels.

Ranging from solo piano pieces through to more song-led works, Alexis Taylor is set to add another chapter to his name.

New solo album 'Silence' is out on September 17th, and Alexis Taylor will play London's Rio Cinema on September 16th.

“I’m not religious myself,” he says, “but the songs which deal with the idea of gospel music or religion, look at it from a distance (rather like the shaky hand-held lens through which we follow the action in Pasolini’s ‘Gospel According To Matthew’) and try to uncover its influence on music and on people in desperate circumstances.”

New song 'Dying In Heaven' leads the way, with Alexis channelling Beach Boys deep cuts, while the slow-born video was handled by Brian DeRan.

Utilising landscapes from the Mojave Desert, it's a beautiful contrast to his wonderful songwriting, a dose of widescreen freedom after a lockdown year.

Tune in now.
