New Pilot Program Has FDNY EMTs, Mental Health Crisis Workers Respond To 911 Calls Involving Mentally Ill Individuals Without NYPD

The mayor's office and the FDNY say police will be called in as part of the new team if a weapon is involved or there's any threat of harm. They say the health professional will coordinate the effort.
