Former JD(U) MP Pavan K Varma appointed vice president of Trinamool Congress

Varma, who was earlier an adviser to Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, was expelled from the JD(U) along with the party’s then national vice president Prashant Kishor (who is now the AITC’s poll strategist) on January 29, 2020 on the charges of openly criticizing the JD(U)’s decision to support the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and the National Population Register (NPR).
