India reports 2.86 lakh Covid cases, 573 deaths; active caseload remains over 2.2 million

India logged 2.86 lakh new Covid cases, marginal increase of 0.1 per cent while the active cases climbed to 22,02,472, according to the Union health ministry data updated on Monday. The death toll climbed to 49,17,00 with 573 fresh fatalities according to the data updated at 9 am. Active cases now comprise 5.46 per cent of the total infections.
