Supreme Court stops shifting of Masoodpur crematorium near Vasant Kunj

Federation of Residents Welfare Association, Vasant Kunj, was successful in the Delhi High Court, which in 2003 had ordered shifting of the crematorium. But a bench Justices M R Shah and M M Sundresh quashed the HC order and said the crematorium pre-existed the posh residential colony. It said if every resident association sought shifting out of crematoriums, there would be none left within the city limits.
