Speaking to TOI on Sunday, village pradhan Prabhat Kumar Saxena, said, "Arun's father, Deepak Maurya, used to work as a labourer in Panipat. He had returned to the village around 10 years ago. They live in a one-room house. The family is poor and Deepak sells paani-puri to make a living. He has never ever spoken harshly with anyone. We are shocked by the crime committed by his son."
