Bhutan King begins three-day visit to Assam, offers prayer at Kamakhya Temple

Bhutan King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuk began his visit to Assam by visiting the Kamakhya Temple in Guwahati. He prayed and performed rituals at the temple, and received a replica of the temple as a gift. The king was welcomed by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma with traditional Assamese attire. During his visit, he will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Indian officials to discuss bilateral cooperation. This visit aims to strengthen the special relationship between Bhutan and India.
