PM Modi's former constituency gears up for grandeur of 12-ft stone Sengol

The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has approved the installation of a stone replica of the Sengol or sceptre, which was unveiled at the new Parliament building in Delhi. The 12-ft tall sculpture, made of Dholpur stone, will be installed at Navkar Circle in Maninagar. The design for this sculpture has received unanimous approval and the contract was awarded to sculptor Vipul Raval. The original sceptre was a gift to India's first PM, Jawaharlal Nehru, and symbolizes the transfer of power. This will be the fourth religious symbol installation in Ahmedabad.
