Luggage hold-up ruins vacation; IndiGo ordered to pay up Rs 70k

A Bengaluru couple sued IndiGo airlines after their luggage arrived two days late on a holiday to Port Blair. The court ordered the carrier to pay them a compensation of Rs 70,000. The couple had booked tickets on IndiGo from Bengaluru to Port Blair but their checked luggage failed to reach the destination. IndiGo representatives allegedly knew the baggage was not loaded but did not inform the couple. The court ruled that IndiGo was responsible and must pay Rs 50,000 for the trouble caused, along with Rs 10,000 for mental agony and court expenses.
