CPR loses FCRA licence for ‘hurting India’s eco interests’

The registration of Centre for Policy Research (CPR) under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 was was cancelled last week due to numerous violations of the Act. Among these violations, the most significant allegation is the "hurting of India's economic interests." The Ministry of Home Affairs sources stated that this was attributed to the purported misutilization of foreign funds for organizing protests and supporting non-FCRA entities in legal battles against development projects, such as coal mines.
