EC awards NCP symbol to Ajit Pawar; allows Sharad Pawar group to claim new party name by 3 pm tomorrow

The Election Commission decided the NCP symbol dispute in favor of Ajit Pawar, following the test of legislative majority. The EC, which held over 10 hearings over six months with the high-profile legal teams deployed by both factions, went by the test of legislative majority to award the NCP name and its reserved “alarm clock” symbol to the faction led by Pawar.
