Japanese Market Drifts Lower

The Japanese stock market is modestly lower on Thursday despite the overnight gains on Wall Street, while the safe-haven yen strengthened as investors turned cautious ahead to Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell's speech at the Jackson Hole symposium later in the day.
