Afghanistan- 9 ABP members killed in Herat province, districts collapse to Taliban

(MENAFN - Khaama Press) Sources told media on Friday that 9 border force members were killed in dual attacks on their outposts in Herat province. The attack occurred on two border outposts in Kohsan and Ghorian districts of Herat province on Thursday night. Both of the districts demographically share border with Iran. Reports indicate the both districts fell to the Taliban after heavy clashes with the government forces. At least 15 border security members were also taken hostage by the Taliban militants. Government officials have not yet commented on both of the incidents This comes as six children of a family were wounded in an IED blast in Mazar-i-Sharif in Balkh province.Provincial police reported the incident happened on Thursday even when a bomb targeted a tribal elder vehicle in the province. Moreover, an explosion hit a Rickshaw in the city of Kandahar on Thursday evening. The driver was reportedly killed in the blast, Kandahar police said.
