Tunisia's PM excludes national curfew in spite of speedy rise of coronavirus cases

(MENAFN) On Monday, Apr. 26 the Tunis Afrique Presse said in a report that Tunisia's Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi has excluded again the option of a national curfew in spite of the speedy rise of coronavirus cases in the nation. Mechichi noted that targeted curfew could be enforced to keep the balance between the health of civilians and economic activities. He further said: "at the weekly meetings of the national committee for the fight against COVID-19, we may decide to tighten the measures against COVID-19 resurgence or to relax them, depending on the evolution of the epidemiological situation of the country." Tunisia's Health Ministry said that 1,285 fresh coronavirus cases were recorded on Monday, bringing the whole number of cases in Tunisia to 301,627.
