Egyptian, Saudi FMs demand urgent truce in Gaza

(MENAFN) On Saturday, May. 15 Egypt�s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his Saudi Arabian counterpart Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud demanded an urgent truce in the Gaza Strip as well as attempts to avoid more escalation of the condition. A report released by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry said that both sides had a phone call, in which they shared outlooks on the present conflict in Gaza. The ministers concurred that the outlook of a full-scale fight in Gaza will have brutal consequences in the region, further saying that they will preserve coordination so as to stop the military escalation. Both sides highlighted the significance of resuming the Palestinian-Israeli peace procedure, as it is the key track that ensures the two-state resolution, maintains all legal rights of the Palestinian people, and brings the establishment of an independent Palestinian country with East Jerusalem as its capital.
