Palestinian killed by Israeli settlers in northern West Bank

(MENAFN - Jordan News Agency) Ramallah, June 22 (Petra) �� A Palestinian was killed early Tuesday near Nablus north of the occupied West Bank after he was assaulted by Jewish settlers.The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said in a statement that Alaa Zahran, a Palestinian National Security officer, was dead on arrival at the Rafidia Public Hospital in Nablus after a group of settlers attacked him in the village of Deir Sharaf.Ultraorthodox Jewish settlers, under the escort of Israeli troops, staged dozens of provocative marches across the occupied West Bank on Monday, including the Nablus area, attacking local Palestinians and their property.Elsewhere in Nablus, Israeli military authorities passed orders to demolish 20 homes in the village of Roujib east of the city under the pretext they were unlicensed.Ghassan Daghlas, the Palestinian Authority official monitoring settlement activity in the Northern West Bank, said some of the residences were inhabited by families and others were under construction.//Petra//SS22/06/2021 14:54:05MENAFN22062021000117011021ID1102325898
