The association joins other notable Maine organizations in choosing Husson as its educational partner

BANGOR, MAINE, Oct. 24, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Maine Hospital Association members and employees can now take courses and work toward certificates and degrees at Husson University at a discounted rate thanks to a recent agreement between the organization and the school.

The partnership allows Maine Hospital Association members and employees a tuition discount on courses toward undergraduate degrees, masters degrees and certificates. Customized education, training and internships are also options for members to work on with Husson. Member hospitals can arrange customized learning on site to bolster knowledge in needed areas through education.

“Husson University is a valued partner to many businesses in the state. We are so thrilled to partner with the Maine Hospital Association to support higher education among their members,” said Dr. Marie Hansen, dean of the College of Business. “With over a century of experience in business education, we provide students with the knowledge they need to achieve career success and help businesses thrive.”

The Maine Hospital Association joins other notable organizations in Maine including L.L.Bean, The Jackson Laboratory, MMG Insurance and Bangor Savings Bank in choosing Husson as their education partner.

“Caring for our communities means investing not only in patient care but also in the growth and development of our healthcare professionals. Our partnership with Husson University opens new doors for MHA members and employees to enhance their skills and expertise at a discounted rate. Together with Husson, we're fostering the future of healthcare in Maine,” said Steven Michaud, president of the Maine Hospital Association.

Those taking advantage of the partnership can apply for a certificate, a non-capped undergraduate degree, and — for those who have completed a bachelor’s degree from a recognized, accredited institution — Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.  Of particular interest may be the MBA-Healthcare Administration concentration.

“At Husson we know that a highly-skilled workforce is essential to an organization’s productivity and success. We are proud to partner with the Maine Hospital Association in their quest to strengthen their workforce through ongoing education,” said Dr. Lynne Coy-Ogan, Husson’s senior vice president for academic affairs and provost.
