Ukrainian Churches Begin Using Gregorian Calendar Starting Sept. 1: Why the Change?

The independent Orthodox Church of Ukraine and the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church have changed their liturgical calendar to reflect the Western observance of Christmas on December 25 to break cultural links with Russia and its January 7 observance.
