Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb to Broadcast ‘Today’ With Live Studio Audience

The fourth hour of NBC’s “Today,” hosted by Jenna Bush Hager and Hoda Kotb, will be filmed before a live studio audience twice a week, the co-hosts announced Thursday.

Starting on Feb. 6, the hour will have a live studio audience for all shows airing Thursdays and Fridays. Kotb and Bush Hager shared the “big news” Thursday morning, equating it to a “new home” and labeling it “Hoda and Jenna and Friends.”

“I love that we have a special title for those special days,” Kotb said.

Bush Hager said she was so excited she could cry. When she actually did start to cry, a box of tissues dropped from the ceiling.

It’s been almost a year since Bush Hager was announced as Kotb’s permanent co-host last February, but both women took maternity leave breaks in that year, limiting their time together. She replaced longtime co-host Kathie Lee Gifford, who announced in December 2018 that she was stepping down.
