Denver weather: Colorado’s record cold rivals North Pole temperatures with slight warm up on the way

Early Monday morning temperatures on the eastern plains of Colorado rivaled the north pole. Wray recorded a temperature of -26 according to the National Weather Service just before sunrise, while Alert, in Nunavut, Canada, was also -26. The Alert Weather Station is the northernmost permanently inhabited place in the world, just 508 miles shy of the North Pole.
