Pakistan: 'Brain-eating amoeba' claims another life in Karachi

Another patient has died in Karachi due to the brain-eating amoeba Naegleria fowleri, according to the Sindh Health Department. This is the third reported death in the past two weeks in the city's Central district, bringing the total number of deaths in the province to 11. The health department has advised the public to take preventive measures, such as avoiding swimming in improperly chlorinated pools and activities that may cause water to enter the nose.
