France launches a nationwide anti-drug crackdown ahead of European elections

The French interior minister announced several nationwide anti-drug operations on Monday, underscoring the government's determination to address the drug trade and urban crime in the run-up to the European elections. Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin announced that law enforcement units carried out raids and apprehended numerous individuals in the northern cities of Lille, Villeneuve-d'Ascq, and Roubaix.
