Watch a Horse-Sized Pumpkin Plummet from 175 Feet onto a Car
It was a bad day ~smash~ to be a pumpkin.??The Annual Utah Giant Pumpkin Drop in Pleasant Grove, Utah is a messy autumnal celebration where hundreds of gourds are dropped from a 175 foot crane onto, well, all sort of things.??Including swimming pools.??Refrigerators.??Even mannequins.??But the grand finale saw a 1060 pound horse sized pumpkin, dropped onto a Geo Metro.
??So what’s the trick to growing a pumpkin big enough to total a car?
??According to the festivals organizer Kyle Fox: “The pumpkins are like an animal.
For every pound they weigh, thats an hour you have to spend raising them.”??Between 5 and 6 thousand spectators turned out to watch the pumpkin blood-bath.??“At the end of the day, it’s about breaking something and having fun.” Fox added.??Let’s just say Cinderella’s fairy godmother is going to have her work cut out for her turning one of these... back into a golden carriage.
