((VO-Space/Earth))??Scientists have discovered a planet they’re calling “Super Earth” because it is reportedly much bigger and colder than our world.????((VO-Space))??Researchers announced the news in a Study published in British Journal Nature.????((VO-USA Today Screenshot/Neptune/Uranus))??USA Today notes that Super Earth’s are planets with masses larger than Earth but not as big as Neptune and Uranus.????((VO-Solar System/ Cold Temperatures))??According to Motherboard the planet called Barnard’s Star b, was found orbiting Barnard’s Star.
It is located six light years away and at least 3.2 times as massive as Earth.
The site notes that the temperature there is around -274 degrees fahrenheit!????((VO-Solar System))??The newly discovered planet is outside of our solar system and the study’s lead scientist said in a statement, “After a very careful analysis, we are 99 percent confident that the planet is there.” He went on to note that experts came to this conclusion after using 7 different instruments and 20 years of measurements.????((VO-More Solar System))??USA Today notes that according to the study life could not exist on this planet because it’s well beyond the zone it would need to be in to be habitable.????????
