UK opposition leader says will table no-confidence motion "soon"

ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION) British opposition Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn said on Sunday (January 13) that exiting the European Union without a deal would be "catastrophic" and he would prefer an agreement is reached rather than a second referendum held.

He also said he would table a motion of no confidence in the government "soon" if Prime Minister Theresa May's Brexit deal is rejected by parliament on Tuesday (January 15), as is widely expected.

The Labour leader also suggested that Article 50 may need to be extended in the event that May's deal is rejected and a subsequent general election were to take place.
