Elliott, who is also the first female rapper to be nominated for the honor, became the third rapper in history welcomed into the organization.

Her predecessors are Jay-Z and Jermaine Dupri.

Elliott took to Twitter to share her gratitude.

Other 2019 inductees include Dallas Austin, Tom T.

Hall, John Prine, Jack Tempchin and Yusuf/Cat Stevens.

The 2019 Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction & Awards Gala will take place on June 13, 2019.
