Vice president mike pence met with military members and their families during a visit to fort mccoy today.
This was his first visit to the wisconsin base.

Then speaking before hundreds of service members... pence talked about the trump administration's commitment to the military... additional defense spending... and increases in pay.
He said budget cuts in previous years made troops less prepared for deployment.
"i'm proud to report to all of you, over the last two years president trump has taken decisive action to rebuild our military.
We're restoring the arsenal of democracy with the largest increases in our military defense in more than a generation."
Speaking to reporters after... pence said the administration will continue to hold v-a employees accountable if they do not provide veterans with the healthcare they need.
He said while there has been progress... more work needs to be done.
The vice president also met with business leaders at j and d manufacturing in eau claire earlier in the day.
He said the u-s mexico canada trade agreement would create jobs and increase investment in manufacturing... while also helping farmers.

We'll make it more possible for farmers and manufactureres , and businesses large and small to be able to compete and win as never before.
And i heard that.
For all the momentum in the economy, for all the good things that are happening in this economy, what i heard today was it's time for the usmca to be passed."
The vice president is encouraging senator tammy baldwin and wisconsin representative ron kind to support the agreement.
