Brexit campaigner Boris Johnson advanced on the prize of Britain's top political job on Tuesday, winning 126 votes in the second round of a contest to replace Prime Minister Theresa May.

Boris Johnson has tightened his grip on the top spot in the UK's leadership race, after a second round of voting.

The former foreign secretary and face of the 2016 Brexit campaign secured 126 votes from fellow Conservative lawmakers who want to see him become the next Prime Minister Former Brexit secretary Dominic Raab is out of the running, failing to secure enough votes and leaving Johnson the most staunchly pro-Brexit candidate Raab's elimination leaves four others in the race - Environment Secretary Michael Gove, Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt, Home Secretary Sajd Javid, and International Development Secretary Rory Stewart.
