This was the dramatic moment when a 35-year old woman and her daughter, believed to have been stuck for 24 hours under a collapsed building following a deadly earthquake in Turkey were pulled alive from the rubble.

Rescuers, who heard the woman's screams, took several hours to reach the survivors in sub zero temperatures, state media said.

AUDIO OF RESCUE WORKER SAYING (Turkish): "Okay, we will save you, okay." Dramatic footage released by Turkish authorities shows the fallout from Friday's 6.8 magnitude quake, which so far has accounted for 39 deaths.

The woman's husband was among the 35 casualties in Elazig province, with a further four fatalities in neighbouring Malatya.

More than 1,600 others were hurt, including 86 still being treated in hospitals, though none were in serious condition, the government said.
