Rick Moranis to Star in ‘Honey, I Shrunk the Kids’ Reboot After a 24-year hiatus from acting, Moranis is stepping back into the spotlight to revisit one of his most iconic roles.

He took a break from acting after his wife, Ann Belsky, died of breast cancer in 1991.

According to ‘The Hollywood Reporter,’ Moranis will reprise his role as scientist Wayne Szalinski in a reboot of ‘Honey I Shrunk the Kids.’ The new film, titled ‘Shrunk,’ will also star Josh Gad as Nick, Wayne’s grown-up son.

‘Shrunk’ will reportedly recreate the original movie's premise, with Gad’s character accidentally shrinking his own kids, just as his father did before him.

‘Shrunk’ will be directed by Joe Johnston, who previously helmed the original movie.

Johnston has also directed other well-known films such as ‘Jumanji,’ ’Jurassic Park III’ and ‘Captain America: The First Avenger.’
