Disheartening video captures the moment these fishermen tried and failed to rescue a stranded whale on the coast in Quang Ngai Province, Viet Nam on Monday (February 17).
A group of fishermen are seen trying to drag the whale back into the sea, however, large waves continue to push the mammal back towards the coast.
According to local reports, the whale weighed more than 500 kilograms and was measured at about four metres long.
After the whale was pronounced dead, the fishermen carried out a local burial ritual.
