The CDC has reported cases in Tennessee, including in the Memphis area.

Of coronavirus cases in the united states continuing to grow...it appears senior citizens or those with weaker immune systems are more likely to catch the virus.

Wtvas amanda haley joins us live in amory on how nursing home workers are trying to prevent the illness from reaching their facility.

According to the cdc..

Older adults and those with previous medical conditions are at a higher risk.

The oak tree manor is one of the assisted living homes that are working to be as germ- free as possible to keep corona virus away.

Vo- theresa childers is the director at oak tree manor,one of the assisted living homes in monroe county.

According to childers, the oak tree facility is taking normal precautions to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the facility.

She says they are treating it like the flu.

Sot- theresa childers, oak tree manor: "wash your hands, use sanitizer, spray disinfect.."

Childers says she is asking visitors to use sanitizer before and after being in the facility.

Sot- theresa childers, oak tree manor:"we're keeping everybody out that has been out of the country..if they are coughing we ask that they dont come in" according to childers, any residents at the facility showing the symptoms such as coughing or a fever, are asked to leave for two weeks and required to be tested for the illness.

She says after the two weeks, if they tested negative they are welcomed.

According to childers, it is all about taking preventative measures.

Childers says she and the other employees at oak tree are cracking down on cleanliness.
