Here's what you need to know.

I'm renee mccullough.

Health officials expect thousands of oregonians to get the coronavirus.

And they're doing everything they can... to stop the spread.

We just got word this afternoon... there are now 24 cases in oregon.

You can see.... one is in douglas county and two are in linn county.

The governor has banned all gatherings that have more than 250 people... until april 8th.

That includes all non essential school gatherings and group activities -- including parent meetings, field trips, and competitions.

This does not include stores, shopping centers or schools.

The director of the oregon health authority says we all need to distance ourselves socially.

Oha director patrick allen: we estimate there could be 150-250 cases right now in oregon, we estimate doubling cases each week, this could mean over 75 thousand cases in oregon by mid may without taking action."

9:26:06 right now, there are 21 cases in oregon.

But, officials suspect the true number could be as high as 250.

We have team coverage -- from the latest on the cases in albany, to more high school and college sports cancellations.

And, how it's affecting shoppers.

But, we begin with michael sevren -- to show us what peacehealth is doing to keep coronavirus outside its walls.

At peacehealth hospitals will first be examined in a trailer before going into the hospital.

All to limit the spread of the coronavirus.

It's outside of their emergency entrances where peacehealth plans to put double wide trailers.

Doctor james mcgovern is peacehealth's incident command for the virus.

He says people will be screened in the trailers first and isolated if they show symptoms. he says they're still working out the final details, but, says it could start happening next week.

Sot: it really is about managing where people are how they come through, making sure our health system is safe, mcgovern says river bend usually runs at around 90 percent capacity.
