Being indoors away from people can be depressing, but staying active can help beat that.

Tonight the stay at home order by governor eric holcomb will go into effect.

To ease you into the changes, we've got some ideas to share that are helping others in time of isolation.

Fox 55'sjentill neal talked to some people about what it's like in isolation and how they are making the most of it.

Jentill?hunter, i want our viewers at home to know this isn't punishment, but for a lot of people who aren't used to being at home for long periods of time it can feel like it.

However the governor didn't say you had to put a stop to the fun.

People i talked to say there's plenty to do to keep your spirits uplifted.

We have a daughter and two grandaughters here in town and we've got two dogs we need to take care of and get excersise."he's surrounded by family, but there's something he does we all can do -- and that's be active.

You don't need a lot of people around for that.

Cheryl hamel asked a friend to go walking this afternoon at hamilton park- six feet apart of course.

Cheryl:"my friend and i are continuing our routine of walking.

Usually we do it at 6:15 in the morning, but today is her day off and we're out and about enjoying the beautiful weather.

Dr. jay fawver says you can fight isolation and depression with some of the free things nature has to offer.and getting fresh air is one of them.dr. jay fawver:"i don't think people are going to come back to work burnt out.

They're going to be ready to go.

They're going to be grateful they spent time with their families.

This is a marvelous time to go for a walk in the fresh air with their families.

The governor's orders did not restrict getting outside and walking the park.

He said we can walk in the park and go bike riding."hamel says one of the things that help her and her husband is still having time to themselves which balances things out."he likes being in his man cave in the garage so we're together when we're eating and end of the day stuff is normal.

He likes to be out and about."

Doctor fawver says heading into the spring time is ideal because viruses don't like the heat so getting outside even if it's for a few minutes on the porch helps.reporting live jentill neal ... fox 55 news.
