EACS volunteers hand out a weeks worth of meals for students

EACS estimates around 35,000 meals were provided for students throughout the day.

Now that kids are out of school, volunteers for east allen county schools gathered today to hand out meals to students, to last throughout the week.fox 55's jeremy masukevich tells us why parents are especially thankful for the school meals.

East allen county schools volunteers handed out lunch and dinner packs for students today.angela cooke says for her two children not only are the school meals necessary for their well being they also provide a much needed opportunity to leave the house.

So thats the vibe with the volunteers.

And its almost like they cant wait to give and be generous.

Thats the way we need to be in a time like now.

Volunteer stephen terry says the dedication of the volunteer staff is what keeps the cars rolling through so mouths can be fed.terry sot 39:28a lot of people have some fear, some anxieties, but when things like this take place and they see there is so much love in the community its been brightening up peoples day.
