Market attendees are advised to utilize social distancing and to only touch what one plans to buy.

Continuing our team coverage... the lane county farmers market is still open saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm...but vendors and shoppers are taking precautions.

Kezi 9 news reporter kennedy dendy went downtown to see what steps are being taken to keep everyone safe.

Patricia rogers garcia: 'everybody has to stay six feet apart from each other and not able to touch my products, i hand the product to them."

The winter market has still caught the attention of many who wish to*support local farms...but some attendees say that not*everyone was keeping their distance.

For the first hour...the market was reserved to seniors and those in high-risk groups.

Patricia: "it's nice to be outside.

I know everybody is supposed to stay at home but i think that from what i hear it's better to be outdoors than in a confined area when you go shopping."

All shoppers were advised to keep a few things in mind before arriving: to remain six feet apart from others.

To only touch what you are going to buy.

To send only one family member if possible and to stay away if you have any symptoms. bridge: organizers of the market say they want to continue to provide a safe place...and many i spoke to today tell me they just wanted to get some fresh air.

Larry: "we've been stuck at home for the last two weeks just dying to get out and get some fresh produce and be out with some people finally.

We've been doing a lot of talking with people on the phone."
