CNY Labor Council looking for more transparency

The CNY Labor Council is looking for more demographics, including statistics on race, regarding coronavirus patients in Oneida County.

Comes to what patient information should be released in oneida county.

On wednesday... the county executive and the health department... released ''gender and ages'' with regards to positive coronavirus test cases in oneida county.

So officials with the cny labor council reached out regarding the current numbers.

And while the say its a step in the right direction... the president of the labor council would like to see the next step taken with more information released including more racial statistics.

We're just looking for information.

I think that what we are requesting can better serve the community...we already know that african americans and other groups have more underlying chronic conditions like heart disease and diabetes.

We're just asking for more transparency so that when this pandemic is over we can be a better resource between the government and the community.

She went on to commend the county executive and the county health department for the great job they have done during this crisis.

The county executive has consistently said he will not go into detail on specific individuals... or where each case is located in the county.
