Patrick core >> have walked int the stores receiving the resources they need ymca has stepped in providing food because there has been a great response from the local businesses in the area of providing food and other resources and in the rituals able to feed pool any of 2005 people were walking in a delivering food to other center like the salvation army is like that and also the system is a sulfur area people source of that it somewhere that they cannot just relax somewhere that the inside and i have to ... think of stay-at-home and self isolation in quarantine is at the lasting reminder and a year since the last thing a man we o our health obviously are uneasy facemask in providing math to come in but i've not had any family come in you really turned a narrow family the priority is picking up the pieces from sunday night's tragedy including my immediate and extended families making sure that their safe everybody has a booth over their head food to eat that's more important th end to stay are ordered but once we get somewhere to stay week i they were in place one wall resident is devastated now that her home is unlivable when it happened is that they are very right why you doing man excessively that they are looking at all that bad for the ball really is just to meet the immediate need of the folks who come here american red cross is here to help us to do that and the weeks that be a through the night and i tell we see that will have carob in some way yes so i'm standing here with kathy toy for the associate executive here at the end of the county ymca in the key key to tell me what is this past we've always been an underworld man actually and just seeing the community and i'm happy for you there and how all the great pick them letters coming here to the line a okay you talk to me about how the american red cross apparently they're hoping of th begin what are they doing to modernist provide in this time of need the right crisis here and much happening is that were serving as a middle ground righ now because we are we can miscount their 70 victims on th community coming here having a long they'll connect to the door and the red cross making and how and then they come into the miami damning in the minor given up a three and how many people have you been able to place in a hotel and provide that episode i'm pretty sure they're working on around hundred and third set fire, so that the springhill suites on your bangalore was on of the locations but noah's overcapacity so what is the nex option of the game time i believe lookout mountain had their lds times telling people have really come out can you can you talk about with the respons has been like from a local restaurant snow providing the food in and things like that is and has been incredible restaurant and dream every hour where the kidnappers are hunter and volunteers around the is battling for talk about how the community coming together t reach out to the store and we keep going some more bad news and force one person died last night and raging floodwaters in marion county because of the storm amir david jackson is 38- year-old amory was white in the car when they tried to cross the bridge and camel the bridge was covered in water and install th car the woman did not make it and it's bad news of course be boring are we finally done with this crazy weather is good patrick core for what is on a forecast right now because it's been a rough few hours that there patrick core you that's why john but things are settlin down even even though it were easy it's a dryer even know we have some leftover clouds much more quiet and i that trend with thankfully will continue for th next several days at breeze is blowing know that the aftermath of the storm as i have low pressure now well to the north and east but is giving us a little cooler weather and you see that breeze coming on the north northwest at 13 and that will continue through the evening hours in a laid out little bit tonight when guys between about the 1520 miles per hour from time to time but a lot of us will seek to that drying when continue as we've had a lo of damage on rooms of houses an people trying to get everything off the houses people are sky thinking well it's safe to get everything off and cannot talk and for how long i think we hav a good award window at least to a kind of a maybe can get your battery charging, think what i do next when it comes to my roo you do have a little time there trying out images have cooled down the 40s on the lactose is a 60 here but 59 in cleveland so it is noticeably cooler than it was yesterday especially last night with all that warm human air as are forecast to show these temperatures continue to drop off as we had for your nighttime hours is a quick look at our passports and forecaster obviously at not going to be a good time with all those floodwaters but today fixed the 60 after start of 59 normally we should be 72 and here's the aftermath of the big storm stil left over with some of these clouds but notice to the north and that's where other big area of low pressure that went through our neck of the woods last night it is a real mover and behind it were seeing the dryer air but kill off the atlantic seaboard that's where that font is now pushing so i drank it taking all that nasty weather is high-pressure brings in some cooler air for the next couple days in fact it can be cooler for the next several days as are forecast to show by these temperatures continue to drop off as we had for your nighttime hours a lot of us wil be into the upper 30s to lower 40s depending on location and elevation tomorrow during the day will have more sunshine it won't be as breezy high temperatures settling into the lord maybe middle xts rally round 6465 in chattanooga so i look for are these are temperatures to a be a bit belo normal for the next several day here's what our regional teache cast as as we head into early wednesday morning authorities t around 40 is another shallow chilly air moves back in lots o sunshine though so once again if you do have to clean up and on the lot of us do i specially i and some of those are real hard- hit areas you have several days to probably get some things done outside and that's great news and we had a lot of community help out there that will continue as well as we look ahead continue drive through much of the work week maybe a few showers for next weekend but once again will have to hold on the jackets as overnight low may fall back into the upper 30 can't rule out some scared fros my early thursday morning to that something want to keep our eyes on as a once again with all the water in all the chilly weather looks like the growing season has a really taken a step pack for a little while super cash shows some showers perhaps pushing back into the area for saturday but they look to be scattered out anything can be heavy great news aisles any major storm systems on the horizon the next several days this one appears to drop to our south just a few showers of the northern extent so are storm team 12 seven-day forecast john lindley this is great news as will be end of the xts for the next couple of days although i temperatures at night organ be on the chilly side we start to rebound little bit more by saturday ... a big respite a much quieter weather pattern in store ... for the next several days of some great news but stay with u will have more special coverage on last night storms here on th me constant can i talk for a minute before we sent to becca got becca needs her prompter ... for the east brainerd thing wherever that is on orders 830 8a 38 ... matthew is right john dozens ... now the first thing she said east brainerd read area sample shambles.

Most if not all residents and businesses are still without power.

This includes gas stations as well as grocery stores.

Power lines, trees, and all sorts of debris are in the streets, in peoples yards, and even on top of their homes.

I spoke with some of the residents there today on how their cleaning up and helping each other out.

Sunday night's storms caused significant and devastating damage across the tennessee valley with east brainerd one of the hardest hit areas.

Most residents were aware of the potential for severe weather and were able to get to safety before the storms hit.

Others awoke to their neighborhood in shambles as the sun came up with trees uprooted or snatched off hitting homes, cars, and businesses.

I spoke with a few residents of the area to hear their stories.

"i went on a walk with my grandma and i was just in shock about what happened and there was a man down there whose tree had fallen on his house and there's some people right over here and there was a tree on their house and i was just devastated."

Anthony says he's seen a lot of volunteers come through his neighborhood today looking to help.

Anthony's mom spoke with us about their severe weather plan when last night's tornado hit.

"it was straight to the bathroom in the tub for cover, checking for my mom, flashlights everything within ten minutes the noises subsided and we opened the door and the end of the house is gone."

"east brainerd has seen one of the worst cases here in the tennessee valley because of the ef-3 tornado which the national weather service in morristown is reporting with winds up to 145 mph behind me, you can see trees uprooted landing on homes, cars even small businesses here in the area."

Reporting in chattanooga, bekah birdsall, news 12 now for residents in stanifer gap road area, devastation started to hit at around eleven last night.

News 12's dorothy sherman explains how they're dealing the day after a damaging storm.

Down jeffery drive you likely won't find a home untouched."

Nats like much of the holly hills neighborhood.

Rick neufeld: "all of the sudden in the middle of the night i just hear like this bomb going off, bang' and i'm thinking what in the world is that and another bang' then i got up and walked down and saw the devastation throughout the house."

Nats the neufeld's home is being cleaned up after an overnight storm sent a tree onto the back side of their home causing significant damage.

Rick neufeld: "thank the lord that we were safe, but, yes i was shocked, because i didn't expect to have this kind of stuff happen."

Right up the road, the roof is gone on the home michibia smith lives in.

Smith says her and her daughter sought shelter in a bathtub and covered themselves with a rod iron bench.

Michibia smith: "we literally laid there and watched our roof peel off like a can of sardines.

Glass was shattering everywhere.

It was horrific."

Smith says one person in the home was taken to the hospital for lacerations from glass.

Michibia smith: "other than that.

We made it through.

As you can see to survive this right here, i'm feeling pretty good, feeling very blessed."

She says they'll continue salvaging what they can.

It's how so many have been spending this day in this neighborhood and the surrounding area.
