County officials, held a virtual town hall tonight to answer your questions about the coronavirus crisis.

News channel 2's caitlin irla joins us live in the studio to tell us about some of the topics discussed.

Caitlin good evening.

Good evening jason.

We're over a month into this pandemic here in oneida county& but people still have so many questions about the coronavirus and about what oneida county is doing to combat the virus and keep people safe.

Tonight's online town hall was a chance to have your questions answered directly.

Over 600 questions were asked on facebook... some of the most popular questions were regarding the closure of campgrounds and why the county executive doesn't give details about where in the county positive cases are.

One topic picente spent a lot of time talking about was re-opening the county... and the importance of having a plan when it's time.

"its not a flicking on and it all goes back to normal; we would like that; i think everybody would and hope that this long nightmare would be over.

We have to do it in a measured way, look at ways at which things can be re-opened in a process that is organized, measured, with all of the date at our hands and with the first and foremost concern of the public health of our residents."

Picente also touched on meeting with officials in surrounding counties to discuss the re-opening process.

Phyllis ellis, the oneida county director of health, also answered several questions.

If you want to watch the full video, it is on the oneida county government facebook page.

We will provide a link on our website at wktv.com.

Jason back to you.
