Mark Logan stepping down from St. Stanislaus baseball

Over the past decade, St.

Stanislaus has produced some of the best high school baseball teams to ever come out of the Gulf Coast under the water of Head Coach Mark Logan.

Some- - - - of the best high school basebal- teams, to ever come out of the- gulf coast... under the watch,- of head coach mark logan.

- but after 17 years... he's- turning that watch... over to - someone else.

- on wednesday... coach logan - announced he would not be - returning to the s-s-c baseball- program, in 20-21... effectivel- stepping down as the winningest- head coach... in program- history.- next in line is former- mississippi state standout brad- corley... who's being promoted- to skipper... after serving as- an assistant, under logan... fo- the last five years.- and he'll have some big shoes t- fill... in the form of two- class 4-a state championships..- in 2010 and 2015... six region - titles... and an overall record- - - - of 286-168.

Coach logan... a- 1986 graduate of stanislaus...- says the 20-20 season - - - - always had the potential, to be- his last... following the - graduation of his youngest son- easton.

- the corona-virus obviously- robbed him, of that proper- send-off... but at the end of - the day...the one they call - "big"..

Still has closure... in the - legacy he leaves behind.- - "at the field there's balls on the wall and it - says state championship and we- always talk about putting - another ball on - - - - the wall and man, there's just- so much that goes into it - because sometimes - people think you just wake up - and you're talented enough.

But- you've got to have the- right chemistry and all those - guys - both those teams - were- very special.

We were - lucky enough to get there twice- and lucky enough to win it- twice."
